Five things you should do in Toronto
I was browsing through my memories, and I found out that I have been keeping these amazing photos for a long time. In 2019, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Canada as I wanted to travel around Lake Ontario. It was my first business flight that took me from Dublin to Toronto and yes, I was looking forward to my first stay in Toronto and was excited all the way. But what should I expect from this place? Let us find out
Toronto, the capital of Ontario is the biggest city in Canada and one of the most diverse. It has many dynamic and beautiful tourist attractions. You can choose from galleries, museums, to the world-renowned CN Tower. And in just a few miles away, you will be able to check out Niagara Falls.
MY MUST-SEE places:
- Tower of Toronto or CN Tower
- Harbourfront Toronto
- Roundhouse Park
- Evviva Breakfast and Lunch
- Amsterdam Brewery
CN Tower
The CN Tower is a must-see attraction and very impossible to miss! This 553-meter tower is a Canadian icon and can be seen from everywhere in the city. You have an option to simply appreciate it from the ground or take a trip up in one of the observation areas or restaurants for a fabulous view over the city including Lake Ontario.
I was so excited to visit this iconic tourist spot as I made a reservation in the restaurant. Early dinner with a perfect view over this city. But you know, the first time I was here the weather was so bad I couldn’t even see the streets from up above. Luckily after my travels around Lake Ontario I had a second chance to come up here for a marvellous chocolate cake as dessert. Yes, I know how to treat myself
Harbourfront Toronto
Another place that I’ve visited while in Toronto is Harbourfront. This neighbourhood is located along the shore of Lake Ontario within the downtown core. There are alot of things that you can do in Harbourfront.
Most of the time, visitors and residents flock to this place when there is a scheduled food and arts festival. You can also catch a ferry and spend the day exploring the Toronto Islands or visit the Music Garden. As you further walk through Harbourfront, you can eat, shop and simply relax as the day goes by.
Roundhouse Park
The Roundhouse Park is both home to the Toronto Railway Museum and Steam Whistle Brewing. It was designed as a National Historic Site of Canada and was built between 1929 and 1931. If you visit the Toronto Railway Museum, you will find that it is a home furnishing store and brewery.
The park is located at the base of the CN Tower and within walking distance from there. So, you really wouldn’t miss it! So, I suggest that you visit this place right after the CN Tower.
Go to the Steam Whistle brewing too because you will surely enjoy looking around while having the chance to taste samples of Canadian beer.
Evviva Breakfast and Lunch
When traveling, one of the things I really look forward to is having the opportunity to taste great food and dining in on different restaurants of the country.
The Evviva Breakfast and Lunch is an example of good food, beautiful ambiance, and friendly staff. In walking distance to the Roundhouse Park, it is the perfect place to fill your hungry stomach and relax after a tiring journey. Be sure to put this on your list of restaurants to visit. I highly recommend it!
Amsterdam Brewery
And finally, as my journey ends, I have visited another spot where I’ve enjoyed tasting different beers. Founded in 1986, the Amsterdam Brewery was a buzzing and popular venue that introduced people to something they had never tasted before – different FLAVOURS of good beer.
In the brewery, you can do alot of things aside from drinking beer. You can eat, party, and even shop in their retail stores. The beers that I have tasted are so phenomenal! I’m not really a beer drinker but try a local one if I get the chance. And if it’s just for the picture.
If you are a solo traveler like me, Canada is one places that is a MUST-VISIT country. I felt secure and welcomed and it was easy to get around in the city.
Have you been to Toronto? What is a must-see for you?
