Las Vegas, the city that is also known for its bright lights and big attractions. Many people also refer it as the Sin City because it is full of casinos and it never sleeps. I was lucky and delighted to have a chance to visit this enticing place with my BFF. I was so excited because this is my first time traveling there.
Like all my other travels, I still have the familiar excitement and a bit of that nervousness whenever I go abroad. Honestly, I still feel nervous, probably from too much excitement, as I get sleepless knowing that I will go to another place I have never been before. So, I don’t, know what to expect once I get there.
As I arrived in Las Vegas, my BFF and I stayed at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. Wow! Pink is the colour of the day I may say! The hotel features a wildlife theme, and the pool was really enormous - perfect for relaxing or taking a dip on a hot day. Inside the hotel of course, is the casino: Ka-ching! Funny story: our luggage arrived 24 hours later, so we had to go for shopping the very first day.
Much as I want to go play inside the casino, I need to remind myself not to gamble too much – I am on a budget here. Wink, wink! Our room was very cool and comfortable that I completely head straight for the bed to take a rest! And it was already morning! How time flies, I thought. So, we had a quick breakfast and started to go through our itinerary.
My MUST-SEE places
- The Venetian Hotel
- Caesar’s Palace Fountain
- The Stratosphere
- High roller Observation Wheel
Fun thing to do: Flying in a helicopter over the Red Rock Canyon and along the Strip.
I can’t wait to tell you my adventure as we go through the different places and fly over the Red Rock Canyon and along the Las Vegas Strip!
The Venetian Hotel
Among all of the hotels found in Las Vegas, The Venetian is one of them. Located in the busy streets of the Las Vegas Strip, this tower serves as an epicenter and the beating heart of the resort.
You will never run out of things to do because it offers different activities for you to enjoy. From taking a ride on their authentic Venetian Gondola to their lively nightlife and delicious cuisine offered inside the resort – everything is within your reach.
Looking at the suites, you will find that they are all comfortable and fully furnished. I seriously don’t want to go out anymore. Too bad, I only have limited time, so I must follow my itinerary or else I might miss the other places I need to go to.
I sure did fell in love with their LOVE installation art. You will certainly not miss it because most of the tourists are taking their picture in front of it and it literally spells LOVE for you, maybe this might mean I can also find love???
Caesar’s Palace Fountain
Who doesn’t know the famous fountain in front of Caesar’s Palace? Of course, me and my BFF will not miss a selfie moment in front of it!
The fountain, which can also be seen from our hotel, the Flamingo, is an iconic structure in Las Vegas. During the day, waterspouts strong from the fountain and serves as a serene background for people who stroll along the Las Vegas strip. The majestic façade makes you think you are on a real palace.
In the evening, this fountain transforms into a colorful and bright attraction where you will be amazed on the fabulous and amazing water and laser display being shown every night.
According to history, the Caesar’s Palace fountain has become popular as it entered the Guinness World Records because of the fountain jump made by two famous motorcycle daredevils. These are: Evel Knievel in 1967, who triumphantly jumped over the fountain and Mike Metzger, in 2006 with a 125-foot-long motorcycle jump in the same fountain.
So, in case you pass by Las Vegas, I know that you will definitely want to see this and have your own selfie in front of it!

High Roller Observation Wheel
If you are not afraid of heights, then you will surely love the view from above with a ride on the High Roller Observation Wheel at the Las Vegas Strip.
Enjoy the view of the whole Las Vegas Strip while riding inside this wheel. It is the tallest observation wheel, soaring high at 550 feet, with 28 spacious cabins to accommodate guests.
Prepare to be astonished as you will be able to see a 360-degree view from above. It took us about 30 minutes to complete one whole revolution. Ticket prices vary as they offer day tickets and anytime tickets.
They also have an open bar where guests can order drinks as they ride the wheel. If I may say, the view is different in the morning and evening. I preferred the nighttime ride as you will get to see the beautiful lights from above. And if you are lucky enough, you might see the fountain show as well, which is more dazzling and awesome!
Flying in a helicopter over the Red Rock Canyon and along the Strip
Finally, a dream come true! Your trip to Las Vegas will never be complete without the famous Red Rock Helicopter Ride.
The Red Rock Canyon is a national conservation area. It has a one way, 13-mile scenic drive with hiking trails, wildlife, great for camping and other cultural resources. Nature lovers and even those who don’t enjoy the wild will fall in love with the great scenery.
We flew over the views of the Red Rock Canyon and marveled with the awe-spiring views. Afterwards, the helicopter ride also flew above the strip where we get to taste a different view of Las Vegas. We flew over the iconic Caesar Palace, Bellagio, Allegiant Stadium and Luxor and, we also get to see the Flamingo Hotel where we stayed.
If you haven’t tried flying in a helicopter, then I recommend you do it! Whether you are afraid of heights or not, this is a once in a lifetime experience! Bucket list – CHECK!
What happens in Vegas...
