A hot shopping day
10am and it’s as hot as a Swedish sauna. Looks like a sweaty day ahead of me. I came to the city with impressive mountain views for one day to attend a music festival. On one of the hottest days of summer… Good planning seems to be important, so my very first stop is a touristic photo stop at the Kappell bridge, which burnt down several years ago and was re-built for everyone’s entertainment.

A good way to spend some time is the transportation museum or a cable railway journey up to Rigi Mountain nearby. But as my time in this touristic city is short, I do the next best thing: spend some time in air-conditioned shopping malls.

Oops, I’m not pregnant but this picture says otherwise. I thought a denim dress is a must-have, but honestly this picture REALLY doesn’t agree. Such a funny shot, maybe a little hungry moment in my belly? I go on to C&A, and into a dressing room that was definitely speaking my language. I’ve never seen such organized hangers in a dressing room. That is surely entertaining to see how many hangers fit on the wall, … and maybe to my purse. I want to find a little black dress for the office, but all I end up doing is making comments about my bad hair day. So I move on to the next store.
A side street is bringing fortune
I discover De Boer in a side street. The boutique offers from size 42 upwards, a well-chosen wardrobe for any plus size diva. My luck, in these early hours there are no other customer around and the shop assistant is there for my demands.

You can probably tell from the expression on my face: that dress doesn’t impress. The color does it for me, but not the way the cut. It’s made of linen, perfect for summer, and super comfy, but it doesn’t go well with my sneakers! (I was in shopping mode, so comfy shoes are a must.). The only good thing: it has pockets.
I don’t buy the last dress, but get my hands on another nice piece. Boutique prices, plus great guidance from the shop assistant. If needed you can opt in for the in house tailor to get the perfect fit.
The shopping time before the concert evening surely is successful for me, although I don’t spend any minute for sight seeing this time. I bought this sporty dress at De Boer … with pockets! Then I’m ready for my dinner on the roof top bar with a view over Lucerne.
Extra tip: For a great view of Lucerne, go to the Restaurant Suite just across the main station.

Ah, Switzerland, my home, the land of legendary cheese and chocolate, where Roger Federer greets you on the street — a whole country running as smooth as… well… a Swiss watch! If you’ve ever made it here, wear this shirt with pride. Preferably while eating chocolate.
