There are many exciting excursion destinations in and around Zurich. A short excursion away from Zurich is the Felsenegg viewpoint: at the same time the mountain station of an aerial cableway. Only the Skyguide (air navigation service that monitors Swiss airspace) transmission tower can be seen from the distance. Felsenegg is ideal for a quick trip and a small snack outside the city. Was there anything tasty up here? You can find out in this post.
A stone's throw away
From the main train station in Zurich, line 4 of the S-Bahn goes directly to Adliswil, which is about a 10-minute walk from the base station of the Felsenegg cable car. From there, the automatic cable car goes up to the mountain station every 15 minutes.
An alternative route
A “planet path” leads from the Uetliberg to Felsenegg, which shows the distances in in proportionate to the solar system. The two-hour hike from the Sun to Pluto can also be taken from the other side and is also accessible in winter.
On the Felsenegg
Being 800 meters above sea level, Felsenegg offers a wonderful view of Lake Zurich, the mountains and the city of Zurich. A little break and the view invite you to a small snack in the mountain restaurant. I recommend the apple strudel, homemade with a lot of love.

Ah, Switzerland, my home, the land of legendary cheese and chocolate, where Roger Federer greets you on the street — a whole country running as smooth as… well… a Swiss watch! If you’ve ever made it here, wear this shirt with pride. Preferably while eating chocolate.
