Menu Solotraveling

February being the month of the hearts is where you will see many people getting romantic, HHWW or holding hands while walking, and for some a bit of kissing and smooching around the park.
Being a solo traveler, I don’t mind looking at those people showing their affection in public (or do I? ha ha) Guess that’s for you to find out.
But kidding aside, solo traveling doesn’t stop me to still find a lot of places to celebrate love. Because loving myself and the love of travel is just enough to fill my heart with warmth and happiness. I am happy being me, loving me, and traveling SOLO!
Traveling solo allows me to discover myself, make new friends and learn to talk to different people from all walks of life. Nowadays, I have learned that I am not the only one doing this stuff. And mind you, these days the growth of women traveling solo is on the rise – and I LOVE IT!
According to studies, solo travel continues to grow every year despite the pandemic. In fact, experts say that solo traveling is a much better option as it is easier to practice social distancing and follow health protocols. (Oh my, good thing I have been doing this for years! – me with an excited smile)
Many destinations, hotels, hostels are now geared to providing better promos for women who are solo traveling. And for one, this month of February is a great way to start exploring great travels. I think there are some countries slowly opening their doors for travel.
One of the places I want to travel to is Paris France. Yes, I know. Who doesn’t want to visit this country and fall in love? Well, I want to find love, maybe, but more so, I wanna discover and explore it. The country itself is so romantic aside from the fashion, food, and language – many destinations are worth visiting. I think one weekend won’t be enough. And yes, the French language is so romantic. The way the people talk and the sound of their voices while speaking French, he he, I feel like I am smitten already (ha ha!)
Places To Visit in France

But kidding aside, the first thing I will visit once I landed in France is the Eiffel Tower. You wouldn’t miss this amazing landmark as most tourists always have this in their itinerary. It is a global cultural icon of France and for a good reason. The unique, majestic design is one worth having a selfie of.
What’s more, the view is spectacular in the evening. Many couples and lovebirds take a stroll beneath the tower. Aside from that, you can also have the chance to see the whole of France on top of the tower. It is open to the public where you can choose to access it by lift or stairs or BOTH, as long as time permits. Exciting! But more importantly, it is also a good place where you can meet new friends along the way. And who knows, I might bump into someone that could be the one (wink, wink)
France is also known to have a lot of museums, and one of the most popular is the Louvre Museum. Said to be the world’s largest and historic museum in France, it is the central landmark in France located on the Right Bank of the Seine. It houses almost 38,000 artworks from prehistory to the 21st century. WOW! I bet you that it will take a lot of time just to finish exploring the museum. So, I might schedule this visit for the whole day. And for this reason, I will be jotting it down on my journal – DEFINITELY!
Things To Do

What to do next? One of the best things to do when traveling solo is exploring a new place on foot. And what better way to fall in love with France than doing it by foot right?
The walking tour on Champs-Elysées
First to see when going through this walking tour is the iconic Arc de Triomphe. I often see this magnificent structure on postcards, online, and even on movies. It is not so hard to see as it is smacked right in the middle of the road where traffic wheezes by 24/7. It is also said to be the largest arch in the world. Tourists can reach the top of the arc by paying a fee and climb up the 280 steps – I better get my rubber shoes ready coz this is not going to be easy.
Next on the walking trip, is the Obelisk of Luxor. Located in the Place de la Concorde just east of the Arc de Triomphe, you will find this historical structure. According to history, this obelisk was a gift to France from the Ottoman rulers of Egypt to commemorate the reign of the Rameses II. From this place, you will see a good look of the Eiffel Tower and stone buildings of the French Naval Ministry.
As you move on with the enjoyable walk, you are set to see the Jardin des Tuileries where it offers a peaceful and relaxing view of the garden. It provides natural shades and lots of benches where you can take a break from walking while watching different people pass by. At the end of the Jardin des Tuileries is the Grand Carre where rows of beautiful flowers are lined up to complete the perfect view – and of course to take a perfect SELFIE!
Finally, another arc to marvel upon – the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. As we all know, France boasts of magnificent arts and amazing architecture that is always a MUST see for everyone and this is one of those structures that you should not miss as well.
Enjoy your coffee!
Travel in Paris will never be complete if you haven’t tried eating and drinking in their famous cafés. I mean, who doesn’t love food and coffee!
A friend of mine told me that the best cafés in Paris are: Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore, Laduree, Café Tournon, and La Rotonde. Not only are they best in serving coffee but the food is marvelous and delish! The ambiance is so cool and perfect for solo travelers – like ME. (smiley face). But those cafés are just some of the popular ones. To find the other cafés and restaurants will be another story!
Paris is truly a place where you can fall in love – not just literally finding a partner, yea. The country itself will leave you breathless and want to get to know more. I am sooooo excited to learn more about it because there is so much more you can do and visit.
I better start saving and booking – if you know what I mean. Happy thoughts and safe journeys to all!
